About the Role:

Hitachi Rail is seeking an experienced and skilled O&M Manuals & Training Manager to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for managing a group of experienced writers to produce high-quality operation and maintenance documentation, arranging training courses, and ensuring effective interface management between the Design and Build team and the O&M team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of technical writers to produce operation and maintenance documentation for customers.
  • Ensure timely delivery of O&M deliverables and milestones in accordance with project schedule and budget.
  • Develop and deliver Operation & Maintenance Manuals, Illustrated Parts Catalog, and Training Program Plan.
  • Prepare technical specifications for subcontractor's manuals and training courses.
  • Ensure effective prioritization of high-priority feature release work with other content, experience, and process improvements.
  • Develop an understanding of how our customers use the manuals and what content needs are helpful.
  • Review and implement customer feedback.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement, including new editor software, and coordinate the implementation and communication of these changes.
  • Review operation and maintenance manuals delivered by subcontractors.

Requirements:

  • Two to five years' experience as a project manager or people manager with a technical documentation team.
  • Minimum 3 years' railway system engineering experience and knowledge of the integrated systems that comprise a metro system.
  • Ability to develop a working knowledge of technical products, processes, and applications.
  • Ability to learn new technical skills quickly.
  • Knowledge and experience in application of the railway Technical-Logistic support documentation, associated with any technical system, either rolling stock and/or a rail vehicle.
  • International experience and ability to manage international projects.
  • Knowledge and ability to review maintenance documentation from sub-suppliers.
  • Techniques and ways to handle the relationship with a supplier in an integrated supply chain approach.
  • Willing to cover a global role.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Person who is easy to work with.
  • Negotiation Skills.
  • Leadership Skills.
  • Experience in modern Lean and Agile Organization.
