Amazon's global packaging organization is seeking a skilled Packaging Quality Assurance Specialist to join their team. As a key member of the Packaging Lab team, this position is responsible for testing packages in accordance with documented laboratory processes that simulate the Amazon fulfillment network. The ideal candidate will have experience working in an industrial laboratory or warehouse environment and be proficient with Microsoft Office and Microsoft Outlook.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and promote safety within the Lab
- Regular lab cleaning, preventative maintenance, and 5S
- Conduct both in-person and virtual packaging testing and document results
- Review 3rd-party test reports, demonstrating high attention to detail
- Communicate with vendors and internal customers in a timely and concise manner
- Interact with non-English-speaking stakeholders, using available translation tools when necessary
- Record activity and maintain data integrity in a variety of systems and tools
- Provide packaging feedback to other Amazon teams
- Participate in varied Packaging and Robotics onsite and virtual support projects
- Review customer feedback and use packaging expertise to advise internal teams
- Manage multiple projects and varying tasks simultaneously
Requirements:
- Experience working in an industrial laboratory or warehouse environment
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and Microsoft Outlook
- Comfortable switching desk to hands-on lab work interchangeably
- Willing and able to work on powered equipment—for example forklift
- Must be able to lift up to 49lbs and team lift lbs
- Must be able to work weekends
- Strong written and verbal communication. Ability to communicate effectively with external and internal customers
- Proven analytical skills and highly comfortable with numbers
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in data mining and manipulation using programs such as SQL, Redshift
- Previous experience with 3D Printing
- Previous experience with testing in an industrial laboratory environment or in quality control
- Previous experience with ISTA, TAPPI, ASTM Test Methods
- Pulp, paper, or other packaging industry experience
- Previous experience with Packaging Design and Failure Analysis
- Previous experience with CAD Tools such as Artios, Solidworks, etc.
