Job Opportunity

We are seeking a distinguished faculty member to fill the Saad Hafez Presidential Endowed Chair position in the Department of Entomology, Plant Pathology and Nematology at the University of Idaho.

About the Role

This is a unique opportunity to lead research and outreach efforts related to nematology in Idaho. The selected candidate will be expected to provide scholarship and leadership that enhances their department, college, and the university.

Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will participate in college and university service and leadership, as well as provide important outreach to regional and national stakeholders. This may include working with agribusiness, commodity groups, producers, and policy makers on issues related to nematology.

Requirements

• An earned Ph.D. in Nematology or an appropriate agricultural discipline with a research emphasis in Nematology is required.
• The candidate must hold the rank of Associate or Full Professor with tenure.
• Experience and training in fundamental and applied nematology research are essential.
• A strong publication record and experience communicating with clientele and providing them with written and oral information are highly desirable.
• The candidate should have experience working collaboratively with colleagues and clientele.

Benefits

The University of Idaho offers a competitive salary range of $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. A visa sponsorship is available for the position listed in this vacancy.
