The Development Officer, West Region is a frontline fundraiser and member of the University's California-based fundraising team. This role serves as a key contributor to the University's advancement efforts, focusing on establishing and managing effective relationships with donor prospects and existing donors across the West Region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and manage a portfolio of prospects, establishing and maintaining effective relationships with donors and prospects.
  • Plan and implement prospect cultivation and solicitation strategies, utilizing work and stewardship plans to identify and evaluate potential donors.
  • Support prospect engagement and involvement efforts for University-wide events and programs taking place in California and the West subregions.
  • Provide administrative support for West Region-based advancement efforts.
  • Perform additional duties and assist with special projects as assigned.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • A minimum of two to three years of experience in the nonprofit sector (or a transferable field) with exposure to frontline fundraising/client services preferred.
  • Demonstrated understanding of individual fundraising required, preferably in the field of higher education and/or within the West Region philanthropic community.
  • Commitment to the principles behind higher education and a strong desire to associate with Villanova University and champion its mission expected.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills required.
  • Must be well organized and detail oriented.
  • Comfortable working in a team-oriented environment, as well as a disciplined self-starter who is results-oriented.
