Postdoctoral Researcher in Satellite Monitoring of Estuaries

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to join our team at CMCC - Centro Euro-Mediterraneo sui Cambiamenti Climatici. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting research and coastal ocean modeling and monitoring activities, with a focus on satellite observations of estuaries and river plumes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process and interpret satellite observational datasets
  • Develop innovative methods and tools for retrieving river mouth salinity
  • Integrate satellite data with in situ observations and modeling results at local scale
  • Collaborate on writing peer-reviewed publications and communicating findings through reporting and/or participation in conferences
Requirements:
  • Master's degree and/or PhD in Ecosystem and Environment related sciences
  • Knowledge of (geo)statistics and geospatial/remote sensing data processing software and tools
  • Experience in elaborating optical EO data and derived products for studying coastal/estuarine transitional systems
  • Skills in information technology-based tools and common programming languages
What We Offer:
  • Initial appointment period of 12 months, with possibility of tenure
  • Gross annual salary range of 30-36 K Euros
