Job Description

ICU is seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Writer to join its team in Rome. As a key member of the Programs Area, this individual will be responsible for developing, drafting, and submitting project proposals to institutional donors and private foundations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement project proposals in response to calls for proposals from institutional donors and private foundations.
  • Collaborate with the Programs and Missions area staff to manage relations with stakeholders, beneficiaries, and partners.
  • Negotiate budgets with identified partners and plan and coordinate their support regarding proposal contents.
  • Set priorities, internal deadlines for writing and reviewing, and objectives for information gathering.
  • Prepare administrative and documentary checklists and action plans for the project formulation phase.
  • Process funding requests and prepare documentation accompanying the request, ensuring compliance with donor guidelines and deadlines.
  • Submit project proposals in compliance with deadlines.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in writing projects on international cooperation programs.
  • Excellent knowledge of calls for proposals and guidelines of main international donors.
  • In-depth knowledge of project writing methodologies (RBM, Project Cycle Management, Logical Framework).
  • Excellent knowledge of English and Italian, written and oral.
  • Excellent knowledge of the Office package.
  • Proven ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders, including local institutions and civil society associations.
  • Familiarity with main online communication platforms.
  • High capacity for planning, analysis, and definition and management of priorities and deadlines.
  • Dynamism and ability to work proactively and autonomously.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Previous experience in writing PRIMA/INTERREG projects.
  • Knowledge of French and/or Spanish.
  • Knowledge or background in NEXUS issues.
