Role Overview

As Government Affairs Lead – Italy, you will be responsible for:

  • Tracking and analyzing relevant legislation and policy proposals impacting solar PV and storage.
  • Developing policy positions and leading policy and regulatory changes to support the company's mission.
  • Implementing advocacy strategies, coordinating with local needs and pre-agreed positions, including securing meetings and interacting with public and private stakeholders.
  • Supporting the business team in developing new business opportunities in the region, ensuring excellent connections between the company, grid operators, and public institutions.
  • Building the company's reputation as a solar leader and raising the profile of local teams by creating engaging content and preparing executive briefing documents for internal and external audiences.
  • Leveraging company participation in trade associations and building coalitions within the energy and renewable sectors, managing external resources such as consultants or agencies.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Knowledge and understanding of the solar and renewables sector.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with geographically diverse, global colleagues.
  • Adaptability and ability to work in a different cultural environment, both operational and office-based.
  • Demonstrated skills working with leadership and ability to interface with all levels of the organization.
  • Qualifications: University degree in economics, law, engineering, or a related field.
  • Native Italian and good level of English.
Experience

Previous experience in renewables/solar energy in energy policy, consultancy, government affairs positions, strategic communication, or public authorities is essential. You will need a proven track record of getting regulatory changes and implementation, successful interactions with policymakers, and ability to define, strategize, communicate, and deliver against business objectives.

Established network of contacts in the sector and in public administration is also required.

Personal Qualities

A team player and collaborator, you will be able to translate global and regional goals and ambitions into effective localized communication and advocacy strategies. Excellent reporting, writing, and presentation skills, and strong attention to detail are also essential. Effective communication skills, both oral and written, are required, as well as ability to handle complex and highly ambiguous scopes of work, while effectively and efficiently prioritizing work with minimal required supervision.
