Lutheran World Federation Representative, Iraq

The Lutheran World Federation (LWF) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the role of Representative in Iraq. This position will be responsible for providing leadership and management to the LWF Country Program in Iraq, ensuring effective implementation of projects, programs, policies, and guidelines.

About the Role

This role will oversee the development and implementation of strategies, plans, and activities that contribute to the achievement of the LWF's global goals. The successful candidate will work closely with regional and national stakeholders to ensure effective coordination and cooperation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide overall leadership and management to the LWF/WS Program in Iraq, ensuring effective coordination and operation of the country management team.
  • Promote and implement the vision, mission, core values, and objectives of the Global LWF/WS strategy and relevant LWF Iraq Country Strategy.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government authorities, local partners, and international organizations.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and integrity within the program.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of humanitarian trends, policies, and best practices, applying this knowledge to improve program quality and impact.
  • Cultivate partnerships with affected populations, local civil society partners, and other stakeholders to enhance program effectiveness and relevance.
  • Ensure timely, accurate, and relevant reporting in accordance with agreements and requirements.
  • Address security concerns and develop security plans for all levels of field staff and visitors to the program.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must possess:

  • A university degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
  • Significant working experience at management level in humanitarian assistance/development programs within an international environment, preferably with church-related or non-governmental organizations.
  • Strong leadership, people management, conceptual, and analytical skills, as well as demonstrated organizational, management, fundraising, and supervisory skills.
  • Knowledge and experience of cooperation with international and national stakeholders in the field of humanitarian assistance, advocacy, human rights, and sustainable development.
  • Team-oriented, flexible, and excellent communication skills.
  • Experience from the Middle East is an added advantage.
Salary Range

The estimated salary range for this position is between $80,000-$120,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
