We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Marine Structures Specialist to join our team at Lloyd's Register.

Job Description

This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with a leading international technical professional service provider, shaping the marine and offshore industry's future through innovative technology and solutions. As a key member of our Global Technical Support Ship Structures Specialized Ships Team, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise to internal and external clients, reviewing structural design of specialized ship structures, and mentoring/coaching other technical employees.

In this challenging and rewarding role, you will have the opportunity to lead projects, working closely with clients in the office and on-site. Your success in this role will depend on your ability to:

  • Perform complex assessments and provide specialist advice within agreed parameters;
  • Produce deliverables in an appropriate format and take responsibility for reviewing other employees' work;
  • Discuss/present deliverables with clients at a senior level and suggest alternative solutions when necessary;
  • Contribute to client management and make recommendations based on client feedback to improve service delivery;
  • Pursue continuous professional development and maintain high discipline, knowledge, and awareness;
  • Undertake project management and mentor/coach other technical employees.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 6 years of experience in ships/mega yachts structures design;
  • A degree or equivalent from a tertiary organization recognized by Lloyd's Register within the relevant field of engineering;
  • Membership of an appropriate professional institution;
  • Working towards achieving Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status;
  • An excellent command of English language using relevant professional terminology;
  • Demonstrable understanding of Project Management processes gained through experience and training.
