Job Opportunity: Engineering Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Engineering Manager to join our team at Orion. This is a permanent position based in Vicenza, Italy.

Purpose: The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the ideation, design, development, and implementation of engineering projects that drive our business forward in the Consumer Goods arena, specifically in water filtration and small domestic appliances.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure the successful execution of projects.
  • Develop and implement engineering strategies that align with the company's goals and objectives.
  • Oversee the design, development, and testing of new products and technologies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, product management, regulatory approvals, and supply chain, to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of engineering projects, adjusting as needed to meet deadlines and quality standards.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and teamwork within the engineering department.

Requirements:

  • Strong leadership and team management skills to guide and support a small but international engineering team effectively.
  • Solid background in engineering and CAD design, with proven experience in managing engineering teams within the consumer goods sector.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities to address challenges and make informed decisions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • A commitment to fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the engineering department.
  • Knowledge of industry regulations and standards relevant to the consumer goods sectors of small appliances and/or water filtration.

  • Ability to innovate and provide creative input to new products.
  • Experience in working with customers globally.
  • Strong ability to interpret data, draw appropriate conclusions and recommendations, and produce high-quality work (using MS Office).
  • High level of autonomy and independence.
  • Able to work with limited supervision.
