Product Design Engineer for Smart Eyewear

About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Product Design Engineer to join our team at EssilorLuxottica. As a Product Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing complex mechanical solutions for our smart eyewear products.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and act as reference for the development of complex mechanical solutions as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
- Ideate, design, build, test, and refine prototypes and characterization test systems
- Push state-of-the-art technologies and approaches to solve complex mechanical problems
- Work across the full product development cycle, especially from idea, to concept definition and to product finalization
- Collaborate closely with industrial designers, UX team and quality
Requirements
- Education in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Design
- Knowledge and experience of Parametric 3D Cad Software, better if Creo software
- Knowledge and experience on PDM, better if Windchill system
- Knowledge on design and process of Injection molding
- 3+ years of industry experience in mechanical design or in mold Design
- Experience in Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), statistical tolerance analysis techniques, functional dimensioning, geometric tolerancing, and 3D/2D CAD
- Knowledge of design and simulation tools, prototyping tools, manufacturing technologies and materials
- Working knowledge in material properties, such as plastics, metal, adhesive, glass, etc.
- Experience building relationships and collaborating with cross-functional teams
- Experience operating autonomously across multiple teams
- High level of organizational skills
- Scientific approach and great problem-solving skills
- Ability to operate in dynamic, fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
- Previous experience in Consumer Electronics Product Development is greatly appreciated
- Experience with Office 365
