Job Description

**Role Overview**

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Submarine Cable Systems Engineer to join our team at Prysmian Group. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and engineering submarine cable systems at both the tender and contract stages.

Key Responsibilities

  • Definition of technically acceptable and commercially competitive cable and cable system designs in line with customer requirements and environmental constraints.
  • Carry out calculations and studies in the thermal, electromagnetic, and mechanical fields.
  • Preparation of technical documentation for customers and specifications for internal or subcontractor's use.
  • Participation in meetings with customers' representatives at all stages of the enquiry and contract to ensure compliance with customers' requirements and customer satisfaction.
  • Production of detailed costing of all materials and services and production of the technical content to be submitted to customers.
  • Support to Contracts Engineering Execution Manager in the preparation of formal documentation and design information for the manufacture of cable, accessories, and for cable installation activities.
  • Occasional work on details of specific aspects which are typically not completely defined at offer stage, e.g. design of special parts, definition/coordination of qualification testing, design of prototypes, etc.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Engineering (Electrical and Energy are preferred).
  • Minimum 1-2 years' experience in engineering field.
  • Good attitude to calculation and computer solution.
  • Experience with electromagnetic, thermal, or mechanical design calculation methods and computer solutions (e.g. FEM, CFD, circuit analysis, etc.) is considered a plus.
  • Ability to combine technical knowledge with communications and liaisons skills, both internally and with customers' representatives (both technical and commercial).
