We are currently seeking a Senior Buyer to join our Sourcing & Procurement team based in Rome, Italy.

About the Job

As a member of the Fired Heater, PVHE and Steels Structures Purchasing Section, you will be responsible for the purchasing of equipment managed by the section, including furnaces, boilers, flares, stacks, reactors, columns, heat exchangers, air coolers, pressure vessels, and steels structures. You will be responsible for preparing bidder lists, setting up and managing enquiries, receiving bids, shortlisting vendors, and carrying out commercial and contractual negotiations.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Prepare bidder lists adapted to the scope of supply
  2. Setup and manage the enquiries in our purchasing tool
  3. Receive bids, shortlist vendors, carry out commercial and contractual negotiations, and issue Commercial Bid Tabulation (CBT) with supplier recommendation
  4. Place the purchase order and manage modifications/PO amendments up to PO close-out
  5. Interface and collaborate with different departments, including Engineering, Project, Legal, Compliance, Cost Control, Planning, Vendor Performance Management, and Transportation
  6. Identify cost and schedule saving opportunities and achieve the most effective purchasing process

About You

We're looking for motivated individuals with an unfailing commitment to ethics and compliance, developed organizational and communication abilities, and the capability to work and deliver under pressure. We also value curiosity, a willingness to learn, and a target-oriented mindset with attention to deadlines. Proficiency with IT tools is a must.

Requirements

  1. A degree in Engineering (preferably Mechanical, Energetic, or Management)
  2. A minimum of 4 years' experience in the purchasing function
  3. Experience in contractual negotiation
