About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Postdoctoral Researcher to join our team at Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia (IIT) in Genoa, Italy. As a Postdoctoral Researcher, you will be working within the Unit For Visually Impaired People (UVIP) Research Line, a multicultural and multi-disciplinary group led by Dr. Monica Gori.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct quantitative characterization of sensory and cognitive status of individuals using statistics and data science to analyze multimodal data.
  • Develop and validate user-centered technologies and rehabilitation training protocols.

Requirements

  • PhD in computer science, statistics, computer engineering, software engineering, biomedical engineering, or related fields.
  • Proven experience with at least one programming language among Python, R, and MATLAB for data science.
  • Experience with the statistical analysis of multifactorial data from mixed experimental designs.
  • Experience with Bayesian statistics and Bayesian models.
  • Experience dealing with sparse and/or hierarchical datasets.
  • Working knowledge of written and spoken English.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to integrate within a multidisciplinary international research group.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with machine learning techniques.
  • Experience with neurophysiological, computer vision, motion capture, or eye-tracking data.
