About this Opportunity:

The Network Standards and Innovation Team at Ericsson is responsible for driving future technology leadership in the radio networks domain. A key part of this is to develop concepts and drive standardization in various industry forums, including O-RAN, 3GPP, IEEE, ITU, IETF, MEF, BBF, and ONAP.

Our Team's Focus:

We are currently driving the definition and evolution of the O-RAN LLS interface in O-RAN WG4. We are seeking a highly skilled standardization researcher with expertise in radio technologies and products to develop concepts and represent Ericsson in O-RAN WG4, exploring the potential for standardization of key features on an evolving LLS interface.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparing technical input and participating as a delegate in O-RAN WG4 standardization meetings
  • Performing, documenting, and communicating research studies, measurements, or computer simulations
  • Creating new technical solutions and protecting them with Intellectual Property Rights (IPR)
  • Supervising and coaching other researchers
  • Collaborating with product development teams
  • Developing or contributing to technology strategies and standardization strategies
  • Developing or contributing to evaluation tools, demonstrators, or test beds if needed

Requirements:

  • PhD in Electrical Engineering, Technical Physics, or equivalent
  • Proven track record in developing new concepts for radio technologies and standards, including 5G NR lower layer functionality, and experience in network product implementation for the RU and DU
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to acquire new knowledge and apply it in the job
  • Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English
  • Ability to formulate problems and solve them independently
  • Creativity, innovation mindset, and ability to work independently
  • Ability to deliver high-quality results under deadlines
  • Ability to develop and drive new ways of working, to produce research results in a more efficient way
  • Deciding and initiating action
