About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Accountant to join our team at Accor in Florence, Italy. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for managing the financial operations of our hotel, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with all relevant financial regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and post daily revenues and banking documents, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial policies and regulations.
  • Reconcile, review, and submit quarterly and monthly VAT returns, ensuring timely submission and accuracy.
  • Review all payments and submit for bank load and approval, ensuring efficient and accurate financial processing.
  • Complete bank reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial policies and regulations.
  • Reconcile PAYE payments to payroll software and ensure HMRC portal management, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Manage the hotel's accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring efficient and accurate financial processing.
  • Conduct internal audits to ensure accuracy and compliance with financial policies and regulations, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, ensuring compliance with financial regulations and policies.
  • Manage payroll processing and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Reconcile bank statements and manage cash flow, ensuring efficient and accurate financial management.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal financial regulations, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Assist in the preparation for external audits and liaise with external auditors, ensuring compliance with financial regulations and policies.
  • Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard the hotel's assets, ensuring compliance with financial regulations and policies.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in hotels or hospitality industry, preferably in a financial role.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills, with ability to analyze P&L statements and apply timeliness and accuracy in recording and reporting.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, with a hands-on, outgoing, proactive approach.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Previous experience in income audit or accounts payable, with understanding of basic accounting functions.
  • Ability to analyze financial data and provide insights to inform business decisions.
  • Strong attention to detail, with ability to maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
