At Amazon Italia Transport Srl, we are seeking skilled and knowledgeable professionals to enhance our operational safety and efficiency.
As a Senior Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) Specialist, you will play a vital role in advancing safety initiatives both on-site and across the region.
Your contributions will help uphold high safety standards while fostering a culture of inclusivity and safety among your colleagues.Our team offers diverse roles, from Health and Safety Technicians to Programme Managers.
Regardless of your position, you will be instrumental in developing, executing, and maintaining our rigorous safety and wellbeing protocols.
Engage in various projects alongside team members from different departments, focusing on equipment and process evaluations, as well as assessing design aspects of facilities and machinery.
Amazon Logistics, or AMZL, specializes in 'last mile' delivery services in collaboration with third-party distribution partners. We leverage innovative thinking and continuous improvement strategies to ensure millions of products reach our customers efficiently.
Our objective is to streamline the delivery experience for our customers while implementing global solutions for our latest offerings, such as Amazon Fresh, Prime Now, and Amazon Restaurants.
Our operations consist of two main components. Our 'under the roof' associates manage the processing of millions of items for dispatch to our delivery teams. We prioritize a supportive and people-centric environment, especially since many of our associates work during night shifts.On the other hand, our 'on the road' personnel collaborate with Amazon Flex, a network of delivery contractors. Each year, we strive to enhance customer experiences with innovative delivery solutions.
We continually seek new methods to tackle industry-wide logistics challenges and reduce our carbon footprint, supported by a fleet of advanced vehicles, including Electric Vehicles, and cutting-edge technology.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee your programs while consistently collaborating with various teams and stakeholders across the organization.
- Utilize internal reporting tools to analyze data reports and identify root causes, providing leadership with essential safety-related insights.
- Offer guidance and establish frameworks for health and safety projects and policies.
- Drive initiatives to enhance technical equipment specifications and designs within Amazon.
- Exhibit a strong willingness to travel within the designated region.
This role is highly dynamic, based at one of our facilities, allowing you to directly influence numerous facets of our safety culture.
You will oversee health and safety standards while enhancing operational functionality and efficiency.Additionally, you will lead your team, assisting them in implementing changes based on employee feedback and identifying opportunities for ongoing process enhancements.
Your position is crucial in ensuring employee safety, satisfaction, and productivity. You will take charge of health and safety initiatives, promoting a culture centered around safe operations.About the Team
The Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) team is essential in ensuring our workforce remains mentally and physically healthy at work.
Our team collaborates with managers, associates, and local authorities across our sites to ensure compliance with Amazon's policies and legal regulations, maintaining safe workplaces. Basic Qualifications- Degree-level education and ASPP or RSPP certification.
- Professional training in a technical field, preferably in mechatronics or electrical engineering.
- Relevant experience in project management.
- Experience in adhering to local Health and Safety legislation.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Advanced proficiency in verbal and written English and Italian.
- Experience with Lean, 5S, and Kaizen methodologies.
- Qualifications or experience in sustainability practices.
- Experience in communicating with a diverse range of stakeholders, including peers and leadership.
- Chartered membership of a Human Resources industry body (e.g., IOSH) to support people management.
- Strong stakeholder management skills.
- In-depth knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
