For our site in Bergamo, we are seeking a Financial Controller to join our team.

As a Financial Controller, you will play a key role in supporting the monthly US GAAP closing process for our Italian entities in collaboration with our Global Accounting COE in Ireland. You will ensure compliance with local statutory and tax regulations, manage annual filings, and work closely with teams in Ireland and Geneva, staying up-to-date with compliance changes.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with FMC's Accounting COE in Ireland to support FMC Italy's US GAAP closing process and ensure financial accuracy.
  • Manage communication with Italian directors on financial processes and handle finance-related queries for the local team.
  • Oversee key financial areas such as revenue recognition, rebate accruals, OPEX, and statutory financial statement preparation.
  • Ensure compliance with local tax and accounting requirements, maintaining reconciliations between US and local GAAP ledgers.
  • Lead external statutory audits, support tax audits, and handle ad hoc statutory filings.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and stay informed on regulatory/accounting changes, implementing updates as needed.

Your Qualifications and Attributes:

  • Over 5 years of relevant experience, including working in matrix organizations, to navigate cross-functional teams and processes.
  • A locally recognized accountancy qualification is required, ensuring a strong foundation in Italian financial regulations.
  • Extensive experience with Italian GAAP and local tax laws is essential for ensuring compliance and accurate financial reporting.
  • Familiarity with US GAAP is necessary to manage financial processes in alignment with FMC's global standards.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and experience with SAP are crucial for handling complex financial data and reporting.
  • Strong proficiency in both languages is required to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
