Senior Imaging Specialist for Mitral Therapies

Patients with mitral and tricuspid valve disease often face complex conditions with limited treatment options. Our Transcatheter Mitral and Tricuspid Therapies (TMTT) business unit is dedicated to developing groundbreaking technologies to address unmet clinical needs. This mission fuels our pursuit of helping patients live longer, healthier lives.

Key responsibilities include assessing new product and procedure development, patient selection criteria, patient screening, and early clinical imaging training for novel and iterative devices.

Preferred locations: Italy, Portugal, or United Kingdom (home office-based job, minimal travel required, with 4-6 planned business trips per year to the US).

Impact and responsibilities:

  • Analyze imaging and/or oversee third-party image analysis for patient screening, contributing to the assessment of potential cases.
  • Analyze, summarize, and present clinical baseline, procedural, and follow-up imaging data to support new product and procedure development and event investigations.
  • Collaborate and provide recommendations to commercial, NPD teams, and healthcare professionals to develop imaging patient selection criteria and screening protocols.
  • Provide input to training content relevant to image analysis for healthcare professionals.
  • Train field support teams and/or healthcare professionals on patient screening procedures.
  • Manage the full screening process by updating patient databases, assigning tasks, monitoring progress, and requesting updates.
  • Lead imaging modality reviews with Field Clinical Specialists and circulate relevant documentation.
  • Deliver training on patient screening for healthcare professionals and Field Clinical Specialists.
  • Develop and improve training curriculum and materials based on clinical experience, EW guidelines, and SOP.
  • Additional duties as required.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences, Cardiac Sciences, Cardiac Physiology, Cardiovascular perfusion, or a related scientific or technical field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in cardiac imaging within a clinical, hospital, or industry environment (CT, cardiac sonographer, echocardiographer).
  • Professional accreditation in echocardiography with EACVI (European Society of Cardiology), BSE (British Society of Echocardiography), or equivalent is strongly preferred.

Essential skills:

  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills in English.
  • Ability to work in a team environment, fostering collaboration between inter-departmental teams, healthcare professionals, and key opinion leaders.
  • Detailed knowledge of cardiovascular imaging principles, theories, and concepts.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Substantial knowledge of one or more relevant imaging equipment operations and screening methodologies.
  • Ability to interact with senior internal and external personnel on significant matters, often requiring coordination between organizations.
