Job Summary

Our client, a leading company in the cargo industry, is seeking a QHSE Superintendent to join their team in Genoa, Italy.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and manage the Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental (QHSE) aspects of the fleet's bulk cargo operations.
  • Develop and maintain safety management systems to ensure compliance with international regulations and company policies.
  • Implement and monitor safety procedures, risk assessments, and corrective actions.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and areas for improvement.
  • Provide guidance and training to crew members on safety practices and procedures.
  • Investigate and report accidents, incidents, and near misses, and recommend preventive measures.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
Requirements:
  • Sailed as Chief Mate or Master onboard a Bulk Carrier or similar.
  • Experience working as a Marine or Safety Superintendent in the shipping industry.
  • Strong understanding of ship dry bulk operations and relevant regulations.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions in high-pressure environments.
  • Living in, or willing to relocate to, Italy.
  • Right to live and work in the EU.
  • Willingness to travel as required by the role.
