Job Description

Role Purpose: As a Cloud Design Engineer, you will be part of a global E2E unit in Cloud Engineering organization, driving cloud-ready and cloud-native strategies for Vodafone.


You will design and support the delivery of Telco Cloud virtualized infrastructure in Italy and cluster markets, aligning with Vodafone Cloud Engineering strategy and goals. Your focus will be on designing and deploying infrastructure Virtualization Network for Cloud-ready platforms, mainly on VMWare NFV & SDN solutions and Red Hat OpenShift.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver infrastructure virtualization solutions for cloud-ready platforms.
  • Work with VNF/CNF Onboarding team to automate E2E integrations.
  • Support the infrastructure build of network functions into on-premise cloud environments.
  • Collaborate with suppliers, peers, and stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of functionality and quality in projects.
  • Define, address, track, and report on standard and guideline adherence.

Requirements

  • Data centre infrastructure, cloud computing, and virtualization architectures (Telco) expertise.
  • Customer-oriented and systematic way of working.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work across multi-functional and cultural boundaries.
  • Strong individual applied thinking.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Must have technical/professional qualifications and at least 5 years of professional experience in cloud and virtualization.

As a Cloud Design Engineer at Vodafone, you will be part of a global E2E unit in Cloud Engineering, driving cloud-ready and cloud-native strategies for Vodafone. The technology focus is on IaaS, CaaS, PaaS infrastructure (vCloud, vCenter, hypervisor, computing, storage, Network - physical or virtual), remote access solutions, cloud security, and backup solutions. You will work with the VNF/CNF Onboarding team to automate E2E integrations and support the infrastructure build of network functions into on-premise cloud environments. Collaborating with suppliers, peers, and stakeholders, you will ensure timely delivery of functionality and quality in projects.
