Job Description

As a Technical Operations Training Specialist at Thermo Fisher Scientific, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing effective training solutions to address technical knowledge gaps and support the start-up of new plants and processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and Implement Training Solutions: Design and deliver training programs to build our global knowledge base, addressing identified technical knowledge gaps and ensuring our teams have the necessary skills to succeed.
  • Support Plant Start-ups and Process Implementations: Collaborate with suppliers and customers to ensure a smooth transition of new processes and technologies, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Mentorship and Supervision: Offer guidance and oversight to team members in addressing field problems, implementing corrective measures, and sharing valuable insights to prevent future occurrences.
  • Technological Investments and Development: Advise on technological investments and development in the network, ensuring alignment with business objectives and industry best practices.
  • Collaboration and Knowledge Sharing: Work closely with Global Operational and Engineering teams to establish and exchange widely accepted methods, promoting a productive network for addressing equipment/process challenges.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices through attendance at key symposia, professional organizations, and discussion groups.
Requirements:
  • Travel Requirements: Availability to travel up to 50% of the time to suppliers' and Thermo Fisher facilities globally.
  • Intensity and Commitment: Intensity, commitment to solving technical challenges in a dynamic environment.
  • Analytical and Hands-on Mentality: Analytical and hands-on mentality combined with a passion for high-end technology and processes.
  • Language Proficiency: Proficient in English (verbal and written).
  • Continuous Learning and Development: Passionate about continuous learning and skilled at understanding how others learn, committed to elevating collective knowledge through on-the-job coaching, classroom, and virtual training.

Education and Experience:
  • Academic Background: Academic Background in Automation.
  • Professional Experience: Some professional experience in a related field highly preferred.
  • Language Requirements: Fluency in English and in Italian or German required.
  • Location: Monza area preferred.
