About the Role

The successful candidate will have a strong background in software development, with a focus on quantitative analysis and risk management. You will work closely with our ARC Technical and R&D Teams to design and develop new features and tools for the ARV platform, ensuring that it meets the needs of our clients and partners.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the development of the annual ARV Drought Calculation Engine and input data for ARC Ltd
  • Integrate tropical cyclones and flood components into the ARV platform and develop additional analysis tools
  • Test and cross-check new releases to ensure accuracy and consistency of calculations
  • Contribute to the design and development of ARV Desktop, including its user interface and functionalities
  • Develop server-based functionality, data storage, and distribution for web-based applications
  • Ensure all products are robust, secure, and efficient in various environments
  • Organize and implement localization of the software and its products
  • Provide support and guidance to collaborations with technical partners
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Advanced university degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum 12 years of experience in software development and quantitative analysis
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities and experience in identifying and reviewing related information
  • Demonstrated ability to take a strategic view across a large complex programme
  • Fluency in English and another ARC working language (French or Portuguese) is a strong asset
