At D-Orbit, we're pioneering the future of space logistics and transportation. As a Propulsion Engineer, you'll have the opportunity to work alongside a diverse group of highly skilled individuals, all driven by a shared passion for innovation and excellence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and improve the design of chemical thrusters, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Manage technical coordination between multiple suppliers, ensuring seamless integration and delivery of high-quality components.
  • Regularly report to the Head of Propulsion and Lead Platform Engineer, providing updates on project progress and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Define requirements and specifications for propulsion components, ensuring they meet the needs of our spacecraft.
  • Support CFD and STR analyses, providing critical insights into the performance of our propulsion systems.
  • Support engine propulsion AIV activities, ensuring smooth integration and testing of our propulsion components.
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Experience in propulsion test planning and execution, with a focus on chemical thrusters.
  • Experience with fluidic, pressurized test equipment, ensuring safe and efficient testing.
  • Experience with safety-related issues of propulsive/pressurized development and testing, including hazardous materials such as flammable gases and oxidizers.
  • Analytical and modelling skills with EcosimPro/RPA, providing critical insights into propulsion system performance.
  • Experience in CFD software, ensuring accurate and efficient simulation of propulsion systems.
  • Experience with CAD modelling software, ensuring precise and accurate design of propulsion components.
  • Knowledge of combustion and cooling methodologies, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency of our propulsion systems.
  • Previous knowledge in acquisition systems and data processing, ensuring seamless integration and analysis of data.
  • Deep understanding of the functioning of green chemical propulsion systems, and the disciplines involved.
  • Previous experience with small thruster development, ensuring expertise in the design and testing of propulsion components.
  • Strong familiarity with ECSS standards, ensuring compliance and adherence to industry standards.
  • Knowledge of programming languages (Python, C, Matlab, others), ensuring efficient and effective development of propulsion systems.
Preferential Skills:
  • Previous experience with Nitrous Oxide, ensuring expertise in the design and testing of propulsion components.
  • Previous experience with Self-pressurized fluids, ensuring safe and efficient testing of propulsion systems.
  • Previous experience with Additive manufacturing, ensuring expertise in the design and testing of propulsion components.
Education:

Masters degree in aerospace engineering is required. PhD in related field is a strong asset.

Professional Experience:

Required experience: 2-5 years in chemical propulsion field.

Language:

Full professional proficiency in the English language is mandatory.
