About the Role:

We are looking for a Logistics Manager to join our team at Soplaya. As a Logistics Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating and managing the global operations of our various sites, ensuring the delivery of high-value-added products with the highest level of service in the industry.

You will work closely with our Director of Operations and collaborate with the Farm and Sales departments to efficiently increase the number of deliverable references in less than 12 hours, 6 days a week, and orderable 24 hours a day for all our existing and future clients in the areas served by our operational sites.

The successful candidate will not only help us maintain our position as a leader in service, quality, and product freshness for our community of chefs but will also work daily in our Operations team to make our processes more efficient and scalable, allowing us to expand our product portfolio delivered incredibly quickly, without errors, as planned.

This is an important role that will enable us to land our process innovation and help us guide the transition to a more efficient and sustainable food supply chain.

The work will be distributed among our various operational sites with flexible hours but compatible with the logistical and operational needs of the company and suppliers, with the possibility of managing it occasionally in smart working with the approval of your supervisor.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise all communication flows between Ops and other departments, transversally to all current and future operational sites, to ensure effective task management and compliance.
  • Develop and improve management tools and procedures to streamline communication flows, ensuring effective compliance and task management.
  • Develop and improve reporting tools to make metrics analysis and project design more effective, as well as their implementation.
  • Analyze the values and trends of key operational metrics and projects, design improvement plans, and coordinate their implementation.
  • Responsibility and coordination of all current and future operational site managers, from support with appropriate management procedures (e.g., 1:1) to mentorship on people and situation management (e.g., lead by example), to training and support on creating and maintaining the best workplace safety, food, and operational standards.
  • Analyze personnel and equipment structures of all current and future operational sites to ensure they are always aligned with the volume movement and delivery needs.
  • Coordinate facility and fleet management of all current and future operational sites to ensure normal and good functioning of physical structures, equipment, and vehicles.
  • Support the Director of Operations in developing new Ops projects.
  • Effective interface with main stakeholders from all company departments to comply with the above points.
  • Effective and constant reporting with each Ops supplier for institutional and strategic issues.
  • Scouting for new Ops suppliers for all current and future operational sites where necessary, with advantageous negotiation and clear contractualization of collaborations.

Requirements:

  • Excellent knowledge of the logistics sector, preferably related to the food and beverage business.
  • Experience of at least 5 years in coordinating in companies and/or logistics commissions, preferably structured and related to the food and beverage business.
  • Excellent data retrieval, analysis, and management skills, as well as definition and implementation of improvement plans.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent knowledge of basic digital tools.
  • Excellent analytical, out-of-the-box thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interactivity skills with all internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience of at least 5 years in coordinating directly teams of at least ten people.
  • Good knowledge of the English language.
