America's Leading Public Research Institution Seeks Highly Skilled Professional to Oversee Broadcast Operations.
Job Description:We are seeking a skilled and experienced Broadcast IT Systems Administrator to join our team at American University. As the Senior Administrator, you will be responsible for overseeing the digital media production systems, audio routing, and control systems in a fast-paced media environment.
The ideal candidate will have 2-4 years of relevant experience in broadcast and IT operations, with a strong understanding of analog and digital audio equipment, contribution links, and satellite systems. Experience with managing digital audio routing and distribution systems, such as AoIP, is also highly desirable.
This hands-on role requires excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. The successful candidate will be able to lift up to 50 pounds, differentiate colors, climb ladders, hear sound and distinguish audio quality, type on a QWERTY keyboard or touch screen, read schematics and fine text, and communicate safety information to others.
Key Responsibilities:- Broadcast Systems Management: Build, test, troubleshoot, maintain, upgrade, and install Broadcast IT systems and devices.
- Operations Training and Support: Troubleshoot system anomalies, provide user training, and support the production needs of special events and remote broadcasts.
- Project Implementation: Collaborate with stakeholders to design and implement systems responsive to content production, playout, and facilities control needs.
- Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field or demonstrated success in similar positions.
- 2-4 years of relevant experience in broadcast and IT operations.
- Strong knowledge of analog and digital audio equipment, contribution links, and satellite systems.
- Experience with managing digital audio routing and distribution systems, such as AoIP.
- $90,000 - $108,430 annually, commensurate with experience.
