About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our Engineering Services team in Rende, Italy. As an Electrical Engineer at WSP, you will play a key role in supporting the development of projects in the renewables sector.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine aspects of engineering assignments, applying knowledge and principles of electrical engineering.
  • Compile, verify, and correlate data related to engineering problems.
  • Assist in designs, studies, reports, and preparation of process deliverables.
  • Perform calculations, simulations, and preliminary analyses.
  • Use computer programs as directed.
  • Participate in preparation of material requisitions, specifications, and other related documents.
  • Coordinate assigned work with other technical personnel as directed.
  • Assist in development and verification of project controls documents and status reports.
Requirements
  • Knowledge of regulatory codes and standards, and design and/or layout criteria pertinent to the renewable discipline.
  • Ability to produce quality deliverables within scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Receives operational supervision and technical guidance from more senior engineers.
  • May provide technical direction as appropriate to others who perform specific design support assignments.
  • Able to follow through on commitments.
  • Ability to articulate well in written communications evolving into technical writing proficiency.
  • Practices safe behaviors in the field and office settings.
  • Willing to perform any task put in front of them.
  • Accepts and seeks out coaching and feedback.
  • Able to manage personal workload and multiple commitments.
  • Demonstrates growth potential both from soft skill and technical skill perspectives.
  • Understands the importance of building a network across the business unit.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Utility scale renewables plants functioning flow and equipment.
  • Italian grid connection regulatory aspects (CEI 0-16, Terna Grid Code at least).
  • Electrical (LV/MV/HV), grid, connections, substations design.
  • Single line diagrams.
  • Electrical calculations.
  • Principles of Energy Yield Assessments.
  • Sizing of MV/HV lines, both underground or overhead, is considered a plus.
  • Softwares: AutoCAD, PVsyst, Ampere (or similar), DigSilent (or similar), Excel, and Office Package.
Education and Experience
  • Degree in electrical or energy engineering.
  • At least 3 years of experience.
