Job Overview

The Retail Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the operational support and service functions within the store. This role collaborates closely with the management team to execute store initiatives, manage expenses effectively, and enhance customer service and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Directs store operations, which may encompass a variety of support functions, including customer service, front-end operations, backroom logistics, facilities management, administrative tasks, personalized services, and food and automotive services.
  • Administers an operational budget that includes expenses, sales, and profits. Evaluates financial reports and relevant data to assess performance and identifies opportunities for operational improvements to boost profitability.
  • Coordinates staffing needs in line with company policies, develops work schedules using the Workforce Management system, conducts interviews, hires staff, and manages payroll expenses.
  • Oversees sales auditing and cash management operations, ensuring accurate cash collection and control.
  • Manages the collection of accounting data and documentation from operational areas, ensuring timely submission for processing and coordinating annual inventory assessments.
  • Acts as the liaison for IT equipment and service issues, collaborating with relevant support departments.
  • Supervises assigned staff, manages key vacancies, evaluates employee performance, and implements corrective actions as necessary.
  • Addresses customer complaints and determines effective resolution methods, while identifying opportunities to enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Ensures efficient operations for receiving and stock replenishment processes.
  • May oversee the coordination of annual physical inventory.
  • Responsible for facility upkeep, equipment maintenance, cleaning, improvement projects, and management of fixed assets.
  • Ensures adherence to safety, security, and fire prevention protocols across all facilities in collaboration with the Asset Protection/Safety department.
  • Functions as the Contracting Officer Technical Representative (COTR) for various vendor contracts and concessions as needed.
  • Coordinates and manages store maintenance and housekeeping in accordance with company standards.
  • Ensures compliance with all company policies and procedures.
  • Reports directly to the General Manager or equivalent position.
  • Performs additional related duties as assigned.

Training Requirements:

  • The incumbent must complete Hazardous Material (HazMat) training within 90 days of employment as mandated by Department of Transportation regulations.

Qualifications:

Candidates must be U.S. Citizens and are required to file a Financial Disclosure Report (OGE) Form 450 as part of the application process.

Experience Requirements:

A total of 5 years of experience is required, which includes:

  • General Experience: 3 years in administrative, professional, or investigative roles that provided a foundational understanding of management practices and administrative processes, along with the ability to engage effectively with others.
  • Specialized Experience: 2 years of progressively responsible experience in administrative, supervisory, managerial, or technical roles demonstrating knowledge of management principles and retail operations.
