The Accounting Specialist will take on various administrative tasks. In addition, the Accounting Specialist will include keeping financial records, customer invoicing, bank bookings, and all months-end related activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain ordinary bookkeeping, including recording invoices payable and professional fees, issuing invoices receivable, employee costs, banks movements, accruals and deferrals, asset and depreciation book, and year-end adjusting entries for closing balance sheet.
- Manage electronic invoices and monthly reconciliation of bank balances from bank statements.
- Periodically reconcile customers and suppliers accounting records.
- Ensure current tax fulfillments, including F24, LIPE, Intrastat, Excise, tax amends, virtual stamp duty, and other fiscal declarations as 770, IRAP, with support from external tax consultant.
- Manage tax compliance vat deposit and deed management from tax agency with support from external tax consultant.
- Ensure all documents are properly approved and distributed, and communicate with vendors, customers, and banks for accounting purposes.
- Prepare periodic reports in cooperation with Finance Controller and reclassification of balance sheet and income statement according to IFRS.
- Fulfillment of accounting official books and production of all documents requested by internal/external auditors.
- Comply with all safety and security rules and regulations, lead by example, and support the department and business unit where required.
- Follow the corporate authority matrix, contract policies compliance guidelines, and actively report improvement opportunities to direct report.
Requirements
- Good Italian and English (German is a plus) language skills.
- Experience (5+ year(s)) in accounting and finance department, with experience in Port areas, demanio/punto franco being a plus.
- Good understanding of MS Office and SAP/accounting systems & procedures.
- Attention to detail, dedicating to get it perfect, and problem-solving oriented.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to prepare contribution requests to public agencies, knowledge of Industry 4.0, leasing, and long-term rental contracts.
- Degree in Finance, Economy, or related.
- Experience with Italian accounting standard and IFRS accounting standard.
The ideal candidate would have a valid EU work permit and be willing to relocate to Trieste in short notice.
