Job Summary

The Contract Manager is responsible for ensuring the effective and efficient administration of contracts. This includes assisting the Project Manager/Project Director in handling contractually relevant matters, negotiating contract amendments, and finalizing change orders. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in contract administration and excellent communication skills.

Main Responsibilities

• Assist the Project Manager/Project Director in handling contractually relevant matters.
• Participate in the negotiation and finalization of contract amendments, supported by the Contract Negotiator as required.
• Participate in the formalization and negotiation of change orders and support the Claim Management Department in the preparation of claims.
• Identify contractual provisions to be transferred to subcontractors and vendors, and convey these provisions to the Project Subcontracting Manager/Coordinator and Project Procurement Manager/Coordinator, respectively.
• Record cases where clients or consortium/joint venture partners fail to comply with their contractual obligations and assess the consequences thereof in relation to cost and time with the support of the Claim Management Department.
• Prepare in advance the tools needed during the project, including the diagram of the Contract, the list of notices and communications under the Contract, and the wording of standard notices.
• Draft correspondence concerning contractual matters.
• Identify delays and disruptions attributable to Client's or partners' responsibilities or to 'force majeure', and duly notify the same.
• Inform promptly Legal Affairs, Contracts and Claim Management when disputes with Clients and partners are likely to result in litigation proceedings.
• Support Legal Affairs, Contracts and Claim Management in the management of litigation proceedings; support Project Risk/Opportunity Management in quantitative and qualitative evaluation of project risk during the executive phase, and support the Project Control Manager in the management of invoices issued to the Clients and/or Partners.

Requirements

• Degree in either engineering discipline or Law.
• 8/10 years experience in a similar role in a multinational and EPC business context.
• Excellent communication, leadership and management attitudes.
• Good writing skills.
• Proficient in English - both speaking and writing. Third language possibly required.
