Our Digital Solutions Center

In 2022, Pirelli opened the Pirelli Digital Solutions Center in Bari, a development center focused on digital innovation. Our employees work on developing software and algorithms for the most advanced processes of planning, manufacturing, and marketing of our tires worldwide.

Key Projects

Our key projects include the strengthening of the Big Data platform for the collection, transformation, and analysis of data from our various ecosystems. This platform enables the processing of algorithms to speed up product development times, improve quality, maximize machine efficiency, optimize commercial effectiveness, and create new digital services.

Job Description

We are seeking a Data Engineer to support the architecting, implementation, and optimization of data-driven solutions across all business units. The successful candidate will design and implement efficient data pipelines and architectures, support data science solutions end-to-end, and build and manage cloud infrastructure architectures.

Responsibilities
  • Design and implement efficient data pipelines and architectures
  • Support data science solutions end-to-end from concept to production
  • Build and manage cloud infrastructure architectures targeted to host data-driven solutions
  • Data ingestion, transformation, and export pipelines, data storage management
  • Prototype-to-product refactoring and optimization following development best practices
  • Cloud infrastructure management through IaaC techniques
  • Product monitoring and maintenance
Requirements
  • Master in Computer Science, Engineering, or any other computer science-oriented disciplines (PhD is a plus)
  • Ability to prototype and test suboptimal solutions quickly and iterate up to a final product that can be deployed in production
  • Knowledge of SQL, Python (scientific libraries: pandas, scipy, numpy, Jupyter)
  • Base knowledge of OOP and design patterns of Hadoop environment (HDFS, YARN, Hive, Spark)
  • Knowledge of cloud development (preferably AWS cloud) and familiarity with agile and scrum methodologies
  • Experience with GIT, CI/CD pipeline, Docker, Kubernetes, and developing REST APIs
  • Knowledge of Kafka and a streaming processing framework (Spark streaming, Apache Flink, etc.) of NO-SQL (Mongo, Apache HBase)
