About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Control Engineer to join our team at ABB. As a key member of our MOTION, Traction division in Genoa, you will be responsible for designing and developing software solutions for auxiliary power converters.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop software for auxiliary power converters, including requirements definition and documentation editing according to railway standards and ABB processes.
  • Contribute to the preparation of design assignments to meet contractual obligations, adhering to relevant standards, safety, cybersecurity, and quality requirements.
  • Ensure that Bill of Materials for the project meets contractual obligations and project gross margin requirements.
  • Design software for field communication and diagnostic/testing interfaces.
  • Support power and testing activities during Type test and Routine test phases.
Requirements
  • Highly skilled in C, C++ languages, Microprocessor DSP, FPGA programming.
  • Ability to demonstrate experience working as Software Control Engineer on Power converter (Methods and Strategies for different power topologies).
  • Enhanced knowledge of Matlab Simulink Simulation environment.
  • Collaborative, solution-focused approach, initiative, creativity, great attention to details, and strong written and spoken communication skills.
  • Degree in Electronic, Electrical or Computer Engineering.
  • Proficient in English and Italian, both written and spoken.
