This helps organizations expedite innovation, minimize the need for physical prototypes, and enhance their market readiness.

Our offerings in real-time simulation and professional driving simulator solutions range from compact desktop setups to comprehensive driver-in-the-loop dynamic simulators. We provide complete solutions that empower OEMs, suppliers, research institutions, motorsport teams, and educational establishments in the transportation sector to fast-track product development. This encompasses the provision of proprietary software, hardware, services, and a customizable open framework.

With over three decades of expertise in simulation, our headquarters is located in Darmstadt, Germany, complemented by technology centers in Italy, the UK, Japan, China, and the USA.

Position Overview

The Simulator Maintenance Engineer will manage maintenance requests for the entire range of simulators utilized by our clients worldwide and will assist in all post-sales service activities, including the planning and execution of software and hardware upgrades.

Primary Responsibilities:

The Simulator Maintenance Engineer will undertake the following responsibilities:

  • Addressing hardware support hotline inquiries by coordinating with suppliers and internal departments.
  • Organizing maintenance and repair operations with clients, suppliers, and internal teams (including mechanical/electrical, procurement, logistics, and support).
  • Conducting site visits for maintenance programs (e.g., analyzing hardware issues and identifying corrective actions; installing software updates; overseeing maintenance tasks).
  • Visiting simulator locations for service engagements (including driving simulator/software training and consulting on software/hardware implementation).
  • Assisting in product delivery during installation activities as necessary.
  • Providing feedback on product quality and sharing customer insights with the simulator sales team (e.g., recommendations for upgrades and other internal requirements).

Core Functions:

  • The Simulator Maintenance Engineer primarily coordinates predictive and corrective maintenance for driving simulator clients.
  • The Simulator Maintenance Engineer diagnoses technical issues reported by clients and plans corrective measures.
  • The Simulator Maintenance Engineer offers additional operational services related to driving simulators (software updates and training).

Details of Function:

  • Planning and executing scheduled maintenance at client sites.
  • Promptly responding to corrective maintenance requests from clients.
  • Diagnosing faults in client simulator systems.
  • Supervising contractors and maintenance technical personnel.
  • Coordinating with procurement to order components and maintain supplies and equipment.
  • Developing maintenance procedures.
  • Keeping records of faults and repairs.
  • Visiting clients for driving simulator software updates.
  • Delivering training on driving simulators.
  • Supporting the product delivery team in project management and installation tasks.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Completed training as a vehicle mechanic, vehicle mechatronics engineer, or a similar qualification.
  • Ability to assess clients' technical issues and requirements.
  • Proficiency in English.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Capability to thrive in dynamic environments, managing multiple tasks under pressure and meeting deadlines.
  • Responsiveness to client requests, coordinating solutions with team members.
  • Willingness to travel frequently.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Practical experience with driving simulators and related software.
  • Familiarity with the VI-grade software suite.
  • Understanding of systems architecture and networks.
  • Expertise in electronic and mechanical applications.
  • Knowledge of maintenance and quality assurance procedures and regulations.
