We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Agrivoltaic Systems Specialist to join our team in Italy. As an Agrivoltaic Systems Specialist, you will play a key role in the development, implementation, and optimization of agrivoltaic systems, integrating solar photovoltaic (PV) technology with agricultural practices to maximize land use efficiency and sustainable energy production.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the design and development of agrivoltaic systems, integrating solar PV arrays with agricultural activities such as crop cultivation, livestock grazing, or aquaculture.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and site assessments to identify suitable locations for agrivoltaic installations, considering factors such as soil quality, crop selection, solar irradiance, and land availability.
  • Collaborate with agronomists, farmers, and local stakeholders to assess agrivoltaic potential, address concerns, and develop tailored solutions that optimize land use and agricultural productivity.
  • Support the design of PV system layouts, considering shading effects, crop spacing, irrigation requirements, and compatibility with existing farming practices.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance on agrivoltaic system components, including solar panels, mounting structures, irrigation systems, and monitoring equipment.
  • Support project development activities, including permitting, regulatory compliance, and stakeholder engagement in relation to the agrivoltaic system.
  • Monitor agrivoltaic system performance, analyze data, and identify opportunities for optimization and improvement.
  • Conduct research and stay updated on advancements in agrivoltaic technology, agronomy, and sustainable agriculture practices.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to enhance knowledge sharing and best practices in agrivoltaics.
  • Contribute to the development of case studies, reports, and publications to showcase the benefits and potential of agrivoltaic systems.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Agronomy, preferably related to renewable energy industry.
  • At least 2 years of proven experience in agrivoltaic systems design, implementation, or research, preferably in the renewable energy or agriculture sector.
  • Strong understanding of agricultural practices, crop management, soil science, and ecosystem dynamics.
  • Familiarity with solar PV technology, system design principles, and electrical components.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to balance technical requirements with agricultural considerations.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders and present complex concepts in a clear and engaging manner.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Fluency in English and Italian, other languages are a plus.
  • Passion for sustainability, renewable energy, and the intersection of agriculture and technology.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for site visits, meetings, and project-related activities.
