Job Opportunity:
Trigyn Technologies is seeking a skilled Database Engineer to join our team in Italy.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage and maintain a global OpenStreetMap (OSM) database replica based on PostgreSQL, including design, implementation, and enhancements as necessary.
• Monitor daily updates of the in-house replica through regular diffs and optimize database performance.
• Manage PostgreSQL objects, including roles, permissions, tables, views, and functions, and perform troubleshooting in case of issues.
• Utilize open-source geospatial routines, such as ogr2ogr, gdal, osmium, osmosis, imposm, and osm2pgsql, to manage geodata.
Required Skills and Experience:
• Expertise in PostgreSQL and PostGIS database administration.
• Proficiency in Linux, Linux Shell Scripting, and Python.
• Familiarity with OSM data models and geospatial data.
• Proficiency in at least one GIS software, such as QGIS or ArcGIS Desktop.
• Basic knowledge of Docker containers, LUA, and R.
