About the Role

The Accounting Specialist will be responsible for maintaining the company's financial records, including accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance. This role will also involve managing electronic invoices, performing monthly bank reconciliations, and periodic reconciliations of customers and suppliers' accounting records.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance.
  • Manage electronic invoices and ensure timely payment processing.
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations and investigate any discrepancies.
  • Conduct periodic reconciliations of customers and suppliers' accounting records to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Ensure compliance with all tax regulations, including VAT, Excise, and other fiscal declarations.
  • Manage tax compliance and ensure timely payment of taxes.
  • Prepare periodic reports for the Finance Controller and ensure accurate and timely reporting.
  • Reclassify balance sheet and income statement according to IFRS standards.
  • Ensure all documents are properly approved and distributed.
  • Communicate with vendors, customers, and banks for accounting purposes.

Requirements

  • Good understanding of MS Office and SAP/accounting systems & procedures.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment.
  • Problem-solving oriented and able to work independently.
  • Experience in accounting and finance department, preferably in a port area or demanio/punto franco.
  • Good understanding of Italian accounting standards and IFRS accounting standards.
  • Degree in Finance, Economy, or related field.
