Job Title: Systems Management Specialist

The Systems Management Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth delivery of InterSystems software and its deployment in line with project requirements. This position is responsible for the overall management of associated resources and activities to guarantee the successful implementation of our software solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Software Delivery and Deployment: Execute the process of designing, reviewing, and installing all InterSystems products, including TrakCare patches, releases, and builds, on required customer platforms, adhering to quality assurance protocols and Service Level Agreements.
  • Infrastructure Management: Administer and maintain hosted solutions and related infrastructure, collaborating with other teams or partners as needed.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical assistance for troubleshooting and performance analysis for implementations, as well as support for custom development, including JavaScript, user-defined functions, interfaces, reports, extracts, data migration scripts, and conversions.
  • Utility Support and Testing: Support and test TrakCare internal and external utilities, such as the patching tool, print service, and others.
  • Presales Support: Assist Presales teams with technical requests, including architecture, configuration, hardware sizing, and other technical aspects.
  • Documentation and Training: Produce technical documentation, such as reference materials, installation instructions, user guides, knowledge-based articles, and how-to's, and participate in on-site technical training and implementations activities if required.
  • Automation and Backup: Take on responsibility for scripting, maintenance, and verification of backups, as well as automation of routine activities, such as deployment of patches and environment replication.
  • Process Improvement: Participate in the continuous improvement of operation processes to deliver exceptional service quality.
  • On-Call Support: Participate in the on-call 24-hour roster service.
Qualifications:
  • Server Administration: In-depth experience in configuring, implementing, and administering Linux or UNIX systems, preferably SUSE or RedHat.
  • Programming and Coding: Ability to work directly with source code and develop solutions to improve system-level performance, with strong scripting skills.
  • Information Security: Familiarity with best practices and techniques for maintaining and improving information security.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to adopt creative skills and problem-solving techniques to solve problems or devise new solutions.
  • Troubleshooting and Analytical Skills: Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Managed Mission Critical Infrastructures: Experience in managing mission-critical infrastructures and applications.
  • Availability: The candidate must be available to work outside usual office hours when required.
Desirable Skills:
  • Monitoring and Alerting Tools: Experience with monitoring and alerting tools, such as Nagios, Zabbix, or Cacti.
  • Networking Deployment and Management: Understanding of networking deployment and management, including load balancers solutions.
  • Configuration Management Tools: Knowledge of configuration management tools, such as Ansible or Puppet.
  • Software Development Environment: Experience in software development environments.
  • ITIL Knowledge: Familiarity with ITIL knowledge.
