Job Description

Gi Group S.p.A. is seeking a highly skilled Associate Scientist to join our team in Siena. As a key member of our analytical development team, you will be responsible for supporting the design and execution of scientific methods for vaccine development.

Responsibilities:
  1. Develop, validate, and utilize separation methods for vaccine product analysis.
  2. Independently manage major separation techniques used in vaccine characterization.
  3. Collaborate with senior personnel to interpret data and contribute to development project planning.
  4. Apply scientifically valid approaches to influence technical decisions and complex technical issues.
  5. Work with the team to execute daily tasks.
  6. Prepare and present scientific data to internal audiences.
  7. Occasionally write technical documents, including protocols and reports.
  8. Effectively communicate with the manager and responsible scientist to ensure timely progress of project-related work.
  9. Understand and represent a role model by working in line with good manufacturing practices (GMP), environmental, health, and safety (EHS) regulations.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and present scientific data in technical development meetings.
  • Participate in the drafting of technical protocols and reports supporting various development phases.
  • Utilize process technical knowledge to meet appropriate regulatory requirements for the development phase.
  • Apply scientific knowledge and experience to suggest improvements in the area of expertise.
  • Analyze information and standard practices to resolve moderate complexity problems in simple situations.
  • Help resolve complex problems through collaboration with others, adopting a new perspective on existing solutions.
  • Effectively communicate with colleagues and within TRD functions.
  • Must be able to work in a team-oriented matrix environment, capable of working with inter-functional teams and communicating effectively.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry or Biotechnology or Biochemistry (PREFERRED CHEMICAL-ANALYTICAL TRAINING).
  • It is a preferred title to have theoretical and practical knowledge of main separation techniques, such as capillary electrophoresis, high-performance liquid chromatography including reverse phase, ion chromatography, and associated detectors (UV, CAD, MS, RI).
  • Good knowledge of the English language, both written and spoken.

Location: Siena

Contract duration: 12-month fixed-term contract.
