About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Database Solutions Architect to join our team at Amazon. As a Database Solutions Architect, you will be responsible for designing and implementing cloud-based database architectures for our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Collaborate with Customers: Work closely with our customers to understand their database workload challenges and provide solutions to meet their needs.
  2. Represent the Voice of the Customer: Act as a liaison between our customers and internal teams to drive the best outcomes for our customers.
  3. Thought Leadership: Develop and validate content such as reference architectures, best practice blogs, and other artifacts to showcase our expertise.
  4. Capture Best Practices: Identify and document best practices from engineering and field teams to share with the wider organization.
  5. Build a Strong Community: Collaborate with our field teams to build a strong worldwide database and analytics community.
Requirements
  1. Proven Experience: Proven experience with relational and/or non-relational database implementations, operations, and/or solution deployment experience in a business-critical, high-availability context.
  2. Working Knowledge: Working knowledge of modern software development practices such as agile methodologies and DevOps.
  3. Infrastructure Requirements: Experience with infrastructure requirements such as networking, storage, and hardware optimization.
  4. Database Implementation: Experience with database implementation and tuning, including schema design, query tuning and optimization, and data migration and integration.
  5. Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations and remote teams.
  6. Technical Skills: Technical skills, including experience with presentations and speaking with executives, IT, management, and developers.
  7. Cloud Experience: Experience migrating or transforming legacy customer solutions to the cloud.
Preferred Qualifications
  1. Analytics Presentation Layer: Experience with analytics presentation layer expertise, including dashboards, reporting, and OLAP.
  2. Executive Speaking: Executive speaking and presentation skills, including formal presentations, white boarding, and large and small group presentations.
  3. AWS Certifications: AWS certifications, such as AWS Solutions Architect Associate/Professional, AWS Database Specialty.
  4. SAP Systems: Knowledge of SAP systems, including SAP Business Suite, S/4HANA, SAP Business Warehouse, SAP HANA, SAP Business Objects, etc.
  5. End User Communities: Experience working with end user or developer communities.
