Electrical Installation Specialist

Journeyman Electrician

This role involves installing electrical systems in commercial and industrial construction markets at job sites and project locations. As a Journeyman Electrician, you will be responsible for supervising and coordinating assigned helper or apprentice electricians on a per-job basis. Additionally, you must promote excellent customer relations by interacting with customers, determining their needs, and providing solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Report to project work sites on time and ready to work.
• Exhibit a willingness to apply oneself, learn, and develop electrical skills.
• Apply basic electrical and construction principles and practices to solve design, development, and modification problems.
• Complete work in accordance with national and local codes, including staying up-to-date with the latest NEC revisions.
• Fulfill daily commitments and stay on project schedules as directed by the job-site foreman.
• Assist with loading materials, digging trenches, pulling wire, and other tasks necessary to complete projects.
• Treat all customers, trades personnel, vendors, fellow workers, and others with dignity and respect.
• Maintain a clean and clutter-free job site.
• Complete paperwork, including timecards, and submit them when required.
• Follow and hold others accountable to the safety policy, program, and training of CESG.
• Troubleshoot common electrical systems, including services, feeders, and branch circuits.
• Plan new or modified installations to minimize waste, provide access for future maintenance, and avoid unsightly, hazardous, and unreliable wiring.
• Prepare sketches showing wiring and equipment locations, following diagrams or blueprints, and ensuring concealed wiring is installed before completing walls, ceilings, and flooring.
• Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble, and install electrical conduit.
• Pull wiring through conduit.
• Splice wires by stripping insulation, twisting or soldering together, and applying tape or terminal caps.
• Connect wiring to lighting fixtures and power equipment.
• Install control and distribution apparatus, such as switches, relays, and circuit-breaker panels.
• Connect power cables to equipment, like electric ranges or motors, and install grounding leads.
• Observe installed equipment or system functioning to detect hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement.
• Repair faulty equipment or systems.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• High School Graduate or G.E.D. equivalent.
• 4 years' experience in electrical project installations.
• Applicant must have reliable transportation.
• Position requires electrician's hand tools.
• Ability to work with hands, multi-task.
• Advanced electrical knowledge required.
• Valid state motor vehicle operator's license and clear driving record to meet Company policy.
• Applicable state certification.

Estimated Salary Range: $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience and location.
