Job Description

Role Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Oracle E-Business Suite Database Administrator to join our team at IBM Computing. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining high-performance Oracle database systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Create and maintain Oracle Databases and eBusiness Suite (eBS) by implementing, configuring, cloning, troubleshooting issues, and maintaining database systems.
  2. Monitor database performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure data integrity and security.
  3. Provide timely technical support in a manner that meets or exceeds Service Level Agreements.
  4. Administer and troubleshoot complex Oracle database systems, performing full database lifecycle management, including installation & configuration, monitoring, patching, setting up backups, and performance tuning.
  5. Involve in Oracle EBS 12.2.x administration, patching, troubleshooting, and configuring complex setups such as SSO integration and high availability.
  6. Participate in production support activities to ensure performance tuning & troubleshooting of complex queries/server performance issues.
  7. Define and implement High Availability and Data Guard.
  8. Support the configuration and maintenance of databases for current applications/systems and other database configuration activities.
  9. Ensure technical support of databases together with development and user support teams. Develop contingency plans to ensure smooth functioning of applications.
  10. Solve access problems to databases and configure access layers granted to certain users.
  11. Support the configuration of reports and ensure reporting services are running as intended.

Required Technical Expertise:

  1. 5+ years of experience as an Oracle E-Business Suite Database Administrator, responsible for database administration, production support, installation, configuration, upgrades, patches, backup and recovery, database security, auditing, and space management.
  2. Installation and configuration of Oracle Multitenant databases in LINUX environments.
  3. Installation, maintenance, platform migration, patching, upgrade, and support for Oracle E-Business Suite Release on large systems.
  4. Understanding of the data model for Oracle EBS Release 12.2 (or higher).
  5. Familiarity with Oracle Weblogic Server and Oracle Fusion Middleware architecture.
  6. Platform migration and OS upgrade (RHEL7 to RHEL8) for E-business Suite servers and Oracle Databases.
  7. Planned and implemented Oracle RAC and Standby Databases Data Guard for high availability and Disaster Recovery (DR).
