About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Databricks Expert to join our team. As a Databricks Expert, you will play a key role in supporting customers in Big Data projects, working closely with business analysts and solution architects to understand use cases, data needs, and outcome objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver data acquisition, transformations, and improvement, cleansing, conversion, compression, and loading of data into data lakes in order to be consumed by analytics and machine learning models.
  • Work in a cloud native environment, leveraging your expertise in cloud platforms such as GCP, AWS, and Azure.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement Big Data architectures, cloud and on-premise.
  • Develop and deliver proofs-of-concept to address specific business needs, using the most appropriate techniques, data sources, and technologies.
  • Migrate workloads from on-premise to cloud environments, ensuring seamless data transfer and minimal downtime.
  • Monitor distributed infrastructure using Azure tools or open-source solutions, such as Grafana and Prometheus.
  • Develop and maintain high-quality code in languages such as Java, Scala, Python, and shell scripting.
  • Work with Apache Spark, Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, and other Azure-related ETL/ELT tools.
  • Hold a Microsoft Certification in Azure or Databricks, such as Azure Data Engineer Associate or Databricks Spark Developer.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in a cloud native environment, with a strong focus on Databricks.
  • Experience in Big Data architectures, cloud and on-premise.
  • Azure infrastructure and networking working experience.
  • Experience in building and delivering proofs-of-concept.
  • Experience in migrating workloads from on-premise to cloud environments.
  • Experience in monitoring distributed infrastructure.
  • Proven experience in Java, Scala, Python, and shell scripting.
  • SQL language knowledge.
  • Experience in leading medium-sized teams.
  • Working experience with Apache Spark, Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, and other Azure-related ETL/ELT tools.

Desired Skills

  • Working experience with Agile Methodology and Kanban.
  • Other Big Data certifications, such as Cloudera or Databricks.
  • Experience with non-Azure ETL/ELT solutions, such as Talend or Oracle Data Integrator.
  • Experience with Data Visualization solutions, such as PowerBI or Tableau.

Location

Our team is based in various locations across Italy, including Milano, Bari, Bologna, Cosenza, Napoli, Roma, Salerno, and Torino.
