Operations Director

Job Summary

Michael Page Africa is seeking an experienced Operations Director to lead our client's agroindustry operations in Africa. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industrial engineering, food science, or a related field, with at least 5 years of experience in a similar role.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise daily operations of the processing plant, ensuring efficient production and quality control.
• Monitor and manage operational budgets, reducing costs without compromising quality.
• Implement and promote best practices in production and process optimization.
• Analyze production data and generate reports to inform decision-making.
• Lead, train, and develop the operations team, fostering a culture of excellence.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Oversee the maintenance and servicing of all plant equipment.
• Maintain high standards of product quality and safety throughout the production process.
• Develop and execute strategic operational plans to achieve business goals.
• Prepare and present regular operational reports to senior management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Food Science, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in a similar role within the food processing or agricultural industry, ideally in Africa.
• Fluency in Portuguese and French is mandatory.
