Vantive: A New Company Built On Our Legacy

Baxter is embarking on a transformative journey to establish our ~$5B Kidney Care segment as an independent entity. Vantive* aims to leverage our nearly 70-year heritage in acute therapies and dialysis—both at home and in clinical settings—to deliver exceptional care to our patients. We believe that Vantive will not only enhance our leadership in the kidney care domain but also provide fulfilling opportunities for those who become part of our mission.

*The proposed separation of Kidney Care from Baxter into a standalone company (to be named Vantive) is contingent upon meeting customary conditions.

Role Overview

In this position, you will oversee the R&D Disposable framework, managing tasks within the specific scope assigned to the project.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the technical leader for modifications to existing products or the development of new products, overseeing relevant design control activities.
  • In the designated projects, you will be accountable for constructing, consolidating, and maintaining the R&D project plan, coordinating the R&D project team, and serving as the change owner when necessary.
  • Manage project communications with the R&D team, leadership, PMO, and other key stakeholders, including updates on project status, achievements, execution strategies, and risk escalations.
  • Collaborate in the preparation of project-related R&D and design documentation.
  • Work alongside the PMO core team leader and other core team members to establish and implement an effective project risk mitigation strategy, ensuring clear communication of risk status to the PMO core team leader and R&D leadership.
  • In partnership with R&D functions and the PMO core team leader, oversee the establishment and monitoring of R&D project budget commitments.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in scientific or technical fields or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 3 years of R&D experience in medical device products.
  • At least 2 years of project management experience or involvement in the product life cycle for medical devices.
  • Knowledge of medical device regulations and standards, including US and EU regulations.
  • Familiarity with project management principles.
  • Understanding of disposable device technology and associated design and development processes.
  • A collaborative approach and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication abilities.
  • Capacity to transition from technical details to broader strategic discussions.
  • Proficiency in English (spoken and written).
