Our diverse workforce operates in over 100 countries, engaging in a variety of challenging roles.
We are currently seeking a Plan Review Consultant I to be part of our Consulting & Technical Solutions team. This position is available on a full-time basis.
The Plan Review Consultant is tasked with engineering functions related to plan assessments. This role involves applying loss prevention principles and thoroughly reviewing technical drawings and specifications for new construction initiatives, particularly focusing on the evaluation of automatic fire protection systems to ensure compliance with FM's Property Loss Prevention Standards. The consultant must grasp the full scope of the project under examination, extending beyond the submitted plans to identify additional review opportunities that may not have been initially disclosed by the client. Training will be provided in areas such as construction reviews, roofing, solar installations, and other equipment assessments.
Responsibilities
- Execute reviews of fire protection and construction submissions in accordance with Engineering Operating Standards and Operating Requirements. Identify potential deficiencies and foreseeable risks related to fire, equipment, and natural hazards.
- Analyze prior communications (risk and project reports, letters, emails) and, as necessary, engage clearly and effectively with designated service providers, project engineers, clients, and contractors to develop a comprehensive understanding of the project.
- Offer technical assistance for client inquiries directed to the office as specified by management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in interpreting technical, construction, equipment, and fire protection drawings and specifications within the fire protection sector.
- Proficiency in CAD software and computer-based calculation tools; familiarity with building information modeling is advantageous.
- Knowledge of fire protection systems and/or construction, along with experience adhering to VDS/FM Global Standards, is essential.
- Project and design experience is highly recommended.
- Proficient in English and Italian; additional languages are a plus.
