Job Description

Job Title: Product Design Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Product Design Engineer to join our EMEA Engineering team. As a Product Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing new products or product variants that will strengthen our position in the market.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and Development: Design and develop new products or product variants, including pump design, assembly processes, and technical documentation.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with the experienced engineering team in Dueville, Italy, and other engineering teams abroad to ensure seamless product development.
  • Quality Assurance: Verify existing drawings and technical documentation, and modify them to include tolerances and control specifications in coordination with the production plant.
  • Release Management: Be responsible for the release of drawings and technical documentation.
  • Product Improvement: Propose ideas for new developments and product modifications to improve the competitiveness of our products.
  • Technical Solutions: Define technical solutions on new developments or product modifications along with the Project Team.
  • Design Changes: Manage design changes and new developments from a technical perspective.
  • System Understanding: Understand pumping systems, including pump-motor-electronic drive, and the interactions between the components.
  • Customer Needs: Understand customer technical needs.
  • Support: Support Manufacturing, Sales, and Service/Quality departments on product-specific issues.
  • Coordination: Coordinate with Franklin Electric Engineering Global organization, especially concerning certification activities.
  • Competitor Analysis: Participate in analysis of products from main competitors.
  • Technical Documentation: Create and manage DFMEA, DVP&R, and other related technical documents working together with the engineering team.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Understand the legal requirements of products in the reference markets and verify conformity to standards, Directives, or legal requirements.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related degree.
  • Experience: Ideally 2-3 years of experience on design duties in Engineering or R&D department.
  • Skills: Knowledge of product development tools, such as CAD-CAE, DFMEA, tolerance stack-up analysis, DVP&R, etc., and various manufacturing processes.
  • Language: Fluent in English.
