At Roarington, we are dedicated to the heritage and conservation of classic automobiles in an ever-evolving world. Our mission is to contribute to the sustainable future of classic cars in the digital age, engaging a younger audience through our innovative metaland platform.

We are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to assist in the operation and enhancement of our platform, which utilizes pixel streaming technology from Unreal Engine. Currently managed by an external provider, we aim to bring this operation in-house. As the inaugural DevOps engineer at Roarington, your role will encompass overseeing the deployment and functionality of the platform, assessing and optimizing the technologies and services utilized, and implementing platform updates. While sharing your expertise with your colleagues is essential, we anticipate that DevOps responsibilities will occupy no more than 20% of your time. The majority of your focus will be on backend engineering, enhancing the platform to accommodate additional user stories and elevate the experience for our visitors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and manage the Roarington platform
  • Maintain and revise agreements with service and hosting partners
  • Deploy updates and resolve issues
  • Create tools to minimize errors and enhance user experience
  • Ensure application scalability, performance, and security
  • Investigate and troubleshoot technical challenges
  • Develop and sustain server-side application logic
  • Create APIs for web and mobile applications
  • Implement automated testing processes

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in a Backend Engineering or related software engineering role
  • Proven experience in a DevOps capacity
  • Expertise in Docker, Git, and Linux as deployment technologies
  • Experience with AWS services (Lambda, API Gateway, RDS, etc.)
  • Proficiency in Java, with knowledge of C# and .NET being a plus
  • Desirable: familiarity with Unreal Engine
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Collaborative team player
  • BSc in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
