Position Overview
The Application Engineering Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing engine installation evaluations, conducting application assessments, and generating comprehensive reports and documentation. This position also provides essential technical assistance to Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), Sales teams, and other personnel within Kubota Europe.
Key Responsibilities
- Guide clients on technical matters, product efficiency, and related inquiries.
- Visit client sites to execute engine evaluations and application assessments. Compile application reports and analyze test results.
- Evaluate and suggest innovative methods to enhance engineering practices and product effectiveness.
- Collaborate with colleagues, including those based in Japan, to discuss engineering principles, technical challenges, and application methodologies.
- Create technical documentation, instructional materials, engine specification sheets, and more.
- Manage, organize, and safeguard sensitive information and materials.
- Adhere to safety protocols and comply with departmental and corporate policies.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Proactive approach to all tasks and responsibilities.
- Excellent command of the English language, both written and spoken.
- In-depth understanding of engineering principles, mechanics, and electronics related to diesel and gasoline engine operations.
- Familiarity with Controller Area Network (CAN) protocols and diagnostics.
- Experience with electrical testing and the use of oscilloscopes.
- Professional communication skills when interacting with management.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Intermediate proficiency in word processing, presentation, and spreadsheet software.
- Intermediate knowledge of CAD and other engineering software tools.
- Willingness to travel, including potential overnight trips, often on short notice; international travel may be required.
Educational Background
- Associate's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent vocational training.
- 3-5 years of experience with industrial diesel engines or similar products, particularly in engine installation.
Physical Requirements
- Capability to operate a vehicle and travel by air.
