Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineering Specialist to join our team at Italdesign. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for the development of high-voltage battery system software.

Key Responsibilities
  • Software Development: Develop and maintain high-voltage battery system software, ensuring it meets the required specifications and standards.
  • Supplier Steering: Collaborate with suppliers to ensure they meet the required standards and deliver high-quality software components.
  • Requirements Management: Update and maintain functional specifications and requirements for the high-voltage battery system software.
  • Project Coordination: Coordinate with the HV battery development team to ensure software functional contents align with project needs.
  • Release Management: Manage the release process for the high-voltage battery system software, ensuring it meets project milestones.
  • Performance Improvement: Identify areas for improvement and implement modifications to enhance software performance, adapt to new regulations, and address boundary conditions.
  • Data Management: Manage BMS data according to project needs and progress, including data structure maintenance in coordination with the overall HV battery development team.
  • Validation and Testing: Ensure the release validation process supports and manages specific software bundles, HiL, or vehicle testing activities.
  • Application and Calibration: Perform BMS software application and calibration activities on vehicles.
  • Project Scheduling and Management: Manage project scheduling, issue tracking, and reporting to management levels and customers.
  • Stakeholder Management: Interface with project stakeholders, involved departments, and suppliers.
  • Performance Analysis: Analyze and evaluate performance to identify areas for improvement and make recommendations for changes.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other departments and teams to achieve project objectives.
  • Issue Management: Manage the escalation process related to issues, proposing solutions.
Requirements
  • Experience: At least 5 years of experience in automotive electric and electronics components development, with at least 3 years in battery management system components and bundles.
  • Knowledge: Good knowledge of automotive OEM processes, including the V-model, release processes, fault correction processes, software change management, etc.
  • Skills: Experience in function development and application, understanding customer requirements, taking responsibility, working independently, and sharing achievements with the team.
  • Leadership: Ability to organize and motivate a team, problem-solving, synthesizing information, priority management, proactivity, flexibility, resilience, and decision-making skills.
  • Communication: Intermediation capacity between teams, assertive and persuasive leadership style, self-motivation, and ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to anticipate, manage critical situations, and provide effective solutions.
  • Negotiation: Strong negotiation skills.
Preferred Requirements
  • Vehicle Software Architecture: Knowledge of vehicle software architecture.
  • HiL Testing and Validation: Experience in HiL testing and validation of E/E software.
  • Error Analysis: Knowledge in error analysis for the complete vehicle.
  • Functional Safety and Cyber Security: Knowledge and experience in functional safety and cyber security.
  • ISO26262: Knowledge and experience in the ISO26262 standard.
  • Supplier Steering: Strong experience in supplier steering.
  • Tool Knowledge: Knowledge of MathWorks MatLab/Simulink, CAPL, Vector Tools (CANoe, CANape, CANalyzer), Requirements & SysML Tools (DOORS, Cameo), and Ticketing Tools (Jira).
