Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Weather Coordinator to join our team at Milano Cortina 2026. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for providing accurate and timely weather forecasts and warnings to support the success of our Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of winter weather patterns, snow conditions, and cold weather-related issues.
- Provide expert meteorological advice to our event organizers and stakeholders to ensure the safe and successful delivery of our events.
- Collaborate with our weather service providers to ensure seamless data transmission and accurate forecasting.
- Develop and implement contingency plans for weather-related disruptions and data transmission malfunctions.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest meteorological tools and software to ensure our forecasting capabilities are always at the forefront.
Requirements:
- Basic knowledge of weather models, forecasting techniques, and meteorological terminology.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey complex meteorological information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience in project management, particularly in dynamic environments like sporting events.
- Familiarity with meteorological tools and software, as well as data interchange formats.
- Strong analytical skills to evaluate weather data and predict its impact on event schedules, safety, and logistics.
- Good interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with weather service providers and internal stakeholders.
